Author Instructions

Discover Economics and Finance: An International Journal (ISSN e-3117-6968) publishes original research articles, review papers, short communications, and perspectives covering all areas of economics, finance, and global business studies. Authors are advised to carefully review and follow the guidelines below before submitting their manuscripts.

1. Manuscript Types

The journal accepts submissions in the following categories:

  • Original Research Articles: Comprehensive studies presenting new findings, models, or empirical analyses in economics or finance (6,000–8,000 words).
  • Review Articles: In-depth critical reviews of literature, theories, and emerging trends in the field (7,000–10,000 words).
  • Short Communications: Concise reports on innovative ideas, policy analyses, or preliminary studies (2,000–3,000 words).
  • Perspectives/Commentaries: Expert opinions or discussions on recent policy developments, market trends, or theoretical innovations (up to 2,500 words).

2. Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts must be submitted online through the journal’s submission system (available on the journal website).

Submissions should be written in English and prepared in Microsoft Word or LaTeX format.

For initial submission, a single file containing the text, tables, and figures is acceptable.

All correspondence regarding submission should be addressed to the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor through the official journal email.

3. Manuscript Structure

Title Page

Concise and informative title reflecting the manuscript’s content.

Author names, institutional affiliations, and ORCID IDs (if available).

Details of the corresponding author including email and full mailing address.

Abstract and Keywords

Abstract: 200–250 words, structured into the following sections:
Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.

Keywords: 4–6 relevant keywords that reflect the central themes of the paper.

Main Text

Introduction: Background, theoretical framework, and research objectives.

Materials and Methods / Methodology: Clear description of analytical methods, data sources, and econometric or statistical models used.

Results: Presentation of empirical findings supported by tables, graphs, or models.

Discussion: Interpretation of results in the context of existing literature and implications for policy or practice.

Conclusion: Key outcomes, policy recommendations, and directions for future research.

References

Follow APA 7th Edition reference style.

Include relevant sources such as peer-reviewed journals, policy reports (e.g., IMF, World Bank, OECD), government data, and economic databases.

4. Figures and Tables

Figures must be high-resolution (minimum 300 dpi) in JPEG, TIFF, or PNG format.

Tables should be editable (not images) and inserted within the manuscript.

Each figure and table must have a clear, descriptive caption and be numbered sequentially.

5. Ethical Considerations

Authors must adhere to the highest standards of publication ethics as defined by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

All potential conflicts of interest and funding sources must be disclosed.

Plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate submission will result in immediate rejection or retraction.

For research involving human participants, datasets, or surveys, authors must comply with institutional ethical standards and data protection regulations.

6. Data and Materials Availability

Each manuscript must include a Data Availability Statement.

Authors are encouraged to deposit datasets, code, or supplementary materials in recognized repositories such as Figshare, Dryad, ICPSR, or Zenodo.

If data cannot be shared, authors must provide a valid justification in the statement.

7. Article Processing Charges (APC)

An Article Processing Charge (APC) applies upon acceptance of the manuscript to cover editorial, peer review, and publication costs.

Waivers or discounts may be granted for authors from low-income countries or under special circumstances.

8. Copyright and Open Access

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).

Authors retain copyright while granting the journal the right to publish and disseminate the article.

This ensures that all content is freely accessible to the global research community without restrictions.

9. Preprints

The journal accepts submissions that have previously appeared on reputable preprint servers (e.g., SSRN, EconStor, RePEc).

Authors must disclose any preprint versions at the time of submission.

10. Peer Review Policy

The journal follows a single-blind peer review process, where reviewers know the identity of authors but not vice versa.

All manuscripts are evaluated based on originality, analytical rigor, clarity, and relevance to economics and finance.

Review decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief after considering at least two independent peer review reports.
