Author Instructions

World Education Policy: An International Journal publishes high-quality research articles, reviews, case studies, short communications, and policy commentaries related to global education systems, teaching methodologies, curriculum reforms, educational technology, inclusive learning, and education governance. Authors are requested to follow the guidelines below before submitting their manuscripts.

1. Manuscript Types

The journal accepts the following categories:

Original Research Articles

Full-length scholarly studies presenting new findings in education, pedagogy, education policy, or learning sciences.
Length: 6,000–8,000 words

Review Articles

Comprehensive and analytical reviews covering major themes in global education, policy reforms, curriculum development, or emerging educational technologies.
Length: 7,000–10,000 words

Short Communications

Concise reports presenting innovative approaches, pilot studies, assessment tools, or early-stage research in education.
Length: 2,000–3,000 words

Perspectives / Commentaries

Expert viewpoints, policy insights, conceptual analyses, or discussions on future educational trends.
Length: up to 2,500 words

2. Manuscript Structure

Title Page

A concise, clear, and informative title.

Full author names, institutional affiliations, and ORCID IDs (if available).

Corresponding author details (email and full mailing address).

Abstract and Keywords

Abstract: 200–250 words, structured as Background, Purpose, Methods, Findings, and Conclusion.

Keywords: 4–6 terms relevant to education research or policy.

Main Text

Introduction

Background, problem statement, significance of the study, and relevance to global education or policy.

Methods

Detailed description of the research design, participants, instruments, data collection, and analysis procedures.
(For policy analyses, outline frameworks, data sources, and evaluation models.)

Results

Clear and systematic presentation of research findings using tables and figures where appropriate.

Discussion

Interpretation of results, comparison with existing literature, and implications for education systems, policy reforms, or teaching practices.

Conclusion

Major outcomes, contributions, and recommendations for educators, policymakers, or researchers.

References

Follow APA 7th edition.

Include books, journal articles, policy reports (e.g., UNESCO, OECD, World Bank), datasets, and reliable academic sources.

3. Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission portal (details available on the website).

Submissions must be in English and prepared in MS Word or LaTeX format.

A single document containing the full text, tables, and figures may be uploaded for the initial review process.

4. Figures and Tables

Figures must be in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi, formats: JPEG/TIFF/PNG).

Tables should be editable and included within the manuscript.

Each figure and table must have a descriptive caption.

5. Ethical Considerations

Authors must adhere to ethical standards in educational research:

  • Informed consent for studies involving students, teachers, or institutions.
  • Approval from institutional ethics committees where applicable.
  • Disclosure of conflicts of interest and funding sources.

Plagiarism, duplicate submissions, falsified data, or unethical research practices will lead to rejection or retraction (as per COPE guidelines).

6. Data and Materials Availability

Authors must include a Data Availability Statement.

Where possible, datasets (e.g., survey data, interview transcripts, statistical files) should be deposited in repositories such as Figshare, Zenodo, OSF, or institutional archives.

If data cannot be shared due to confidentiality or policy restrictions, a justification must be provided.

7. Article Processing Charges (APC)

An APC is required after the manuscript is accepted for publication.

Waivers or discounts may be considered for authors from low-income countries or early-career researchers.

8. Copyright and Open Access

Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right to publish the work.

9. Preprints

The journal accepts manuscripts previously posted on preprint servers (e.g., SSRN, EdArXiv).

Authors must declare this at the time of submission.

10. Peer Review Policy

The journal follows a single-blind peer review system.

Manuscripts are evaluated for originality, relevance, methodological rigor, clarity, and contribution to educational research or policy.
