Editorial Process

Editorial Process

The editorial process at World Education Policy: An International Journal is designed to ensure the publication of high-quality, original, and ethically responsible research in the field of global education. Our workflow follows a rigorous, transparent, and fair peer review system that upholds academic integrity and scholarly excellence.

1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit manuscripts through the journal’s online submission portal or designated email.

Submissions must strictly follow the Author Guidelines, including formatting, structure, and ethical standards.

A confirmation email is issued upon successful submission.

2. Initial Screening

The Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editors conduct a preliminary assessment.

Manuscripts are checked for:

  • Relevance to educational policy, systems, teaching, and learning
  • Originality, innovation, and contribution to the field
  • Quality of writing, clarity, and academic tone
  • Compliance with submission and ethical guidelines

Manuscripts not meeting these criteria may be desk rejected.

3. Plagiarism Check

All submissions undergo plagiarism screening using reliable detection software.

Manuscripts with significant similarity or suspected ethical misconduct are rejected immediately.

4. Peer Review Process

Suitable manuscripts proceed to a double-blind peer review.

At least two independent reviewers with expertise in relevant educational domains evaluate the work.

Reviewers assess:

  • Originality and significance
  • Theoretical and methodological soundness
  • Policy relevance and practical implications
  • Clarity, structure, and scholarly contribution

Review outcomes include:

  • Accept
  • Minor revisions
  • Major revisions
  • Reject

5. Author Revision

Authors receive reviewer feedback and are requested to revise accordingly.

Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the specified deadline along with a detailed response letter addressing reviewer comments.

6. Final Decision

The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with Associate Editors, makes the final publication decision based on reviewer evaluations and revisions.

Authors are notified of the decision via email.

7. Copyediting and Proofreading

Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting for language, clarity, and formatting accuracy.

Proofs are shared with authors for final checks before publication.

8. Publication

The final version is published online as open access.

Each article receives a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for permanent citation, indexing, and global accessibility.

9. Post-Publication

Published articles are promoted through the journal website, academic channels, and social media.

Authors are encouraged to share their work to enhance visibility and global impact.

Editorial Integrity

The journal adheres strictly to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
All editorial decisions are made impartially and exclusively on the scholarly merit of the manuscript, free from bias or conflicts of interest.
