Guest Editor Guidelines
World Education Policy: An International Journal publishes Special Issues on emerging themes in global education, policy reform, curriculum innovation, digital learning, inclusive education, higher education development, governance, and other interdisciplinary areas shaping modern education systems. These Special Issues are curated by Guest Editors—respected scholars and practitioners known for their expertise and leadership in education.
This document outlines the guidelines for Guest Editors to manage Special Issues with professionalism, academic integrity, and efficiency.
1. Role of Guest Editors
Guest Editors are entrusted with leading Special Issues and are responsible for:
- Proposing timely, relevant, and innovative themes in the field of education.
- Submitting a formal proposal with a clear title, scope, objectives, and timeline.
- Overseeing the peer review process while ensuring academic rigor and fairness.
- Inviting high-quality contributions from global experts and researchers.
- Ensuring all submissions comply with the journal’s ethical and publishing standards.
- Preparing an introductory editorial for the Special Issue (optional but encouraged).
2. Proposal Submission
To propose a Special Issue, Guest Editors should submit a Special Issue Proposal containing:
- Proposed Title of the Special Issue.
- Rationale & Relevance: Why the topic matters for global education policy today.
- Scope: Key themes and areas to be covered (e.g., curriculum reform, digital transformation, equity and inclusion, higher education governance, assessment systems, education financing, lifelong learning).
- Tentative Timeline: Submission deadlines, review cycle, and expected publication dates.
- Potential Contributors: Optional list of researchers who may submit papers.
- Guest Editor Details: Name, designation, institution, ORCID iD, and a brief biography.
Proposals are evaluated by the Editorial Board, and selected applicants are officially appointed as Guest Editors.
3. Responsibilities During the Special Issue
Guest Editors are expected to:
- Promote the Special Issue within academic and professional networks.
- Invite contributions from leading researchers, policymakers, and practitioners.
- Conduct an initial screening of submissions for relevance and quality.
- Assign qualified peer reviewers in coordination with the Editorial Office.
