Article Processing Charge (APC)

APC

Acta Social Science & Humanities: An International Journal follows a Gold Open Access publishing model, ensuring that all published articles are freely available to readers worldwide without any subscription or access barriers. To maintain the journal’s commitment to high-quality open-access publishing, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) only upon final acceptance of their manuscript

Purpose of APC

The Article Processing Charge supports the operational and technical aspects of the publication process. The collected fees are utilized exclusively for essential functions such as:

Editorial management, plagiarism screening, and the double-blind peer review process.

Professional copyediting, language enhancement, and formatting to meet international publishing standards.

Online hosting, archiving, and indexing of articles in global academic databases.

DOI assignment, metadata registration, and digital preservation for long-term accessibility.

Maintenance of website infrastructure and dissemination of scholarly content to a global readership.

By contributing the APC, authors directly support the journal’s mission to promote open, inclusive, and globally accessible research in the fields of social sciences, humanities, and cultural studies.

APC Amount

An Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 70 applies to all manuscripts accepted after peer review. To support and encourage high-quality submissions, we are pleased to offer a reduced promotional APC of USD 35 for manuscripts accepted on or before 30 March 2026.

Note: APC rates are periodically reviewed to ensure affordability and sustainability. The applicable APC will be clearly communicated to authors at the time of manuscript acceptance.

Waivers and Discounts

To uphold the journal’s inclusive and equitable publishing policy, Acta Social Science & Humanities provides APC waivers or discounts in specific circumstances, such as:

  1. Authors affiliated with institutions in low-income or lower-middle-income countries (based on World Bank classification).
  2. Early-career researchers, postgraduate scholars, or independent researchers lacking formal research funding.
  3. Special Issues or thematic volumes with negotiated APC reductions.

Waiver requests must be submitted during the manuscript submission stage and will be reviewed individually by the Editorial Office based on the author’s eligibility and supporting documents.

Payment Procedure

The APC is applicable only after manuscript acceptance following peer review.

Upon acceptance, the corresponding author will receive an official invoice from the Editorial Office containing detailed payment instructions. The following payment methods are accepted:

Bank Transfer (Preferred)

Credit/Debit Card

Online Payment Gateway (details provided on invoice)

A payment receipt will be issued upon completion of the transaction, which may be used for institutional reimbursement or funding documentation purposes.

Refund Policy

APCs are non-refundable once the article enters the production or publication phase.

If an article is withdrawn by the author after acceptance, the APC will not be refunded.

In rare cases involving technical errors or publisher-initiated withdrawal, a partial or full refund may be considered at the discretion of the publisher.

Transparency and Ethics

Acta Social Science & Humanities: An International Journal is committed to full transparency and ethical publication practices. The journal ensures that all APC funds are allocated solely toward maintaining editorial quality, digital infrastructure, and open-access dissemination.
